Trips and Competitions
Trips - Oregon and B.C. Championships
Every year since 2005 the Gator Cross Country team has done one or two trips. In 2017 the trip we have planned is to the Three Course Challenge, hosted by Seaside High School. This race has a unique format where runners pull a poker chip out of a bucket to determine which race they will run in - easy, medium, or hard. So, luck of the draw determines your race and in the past this feature has taken the focus off competition to make the focus on fun. This season the B.C. Championships are in Vancouver so we will not need to travel too far so there will be less expense. The trip to Seaside and Portland is a great way to team build and create memories with your team.
Competitions
The Gators compete in both qualifying races and championship races. We try to limit our races to once per week to prevent injuries. We have Langley races, at Aldergrove Lake, where we compete against Langley schools and there is a Langley Championship. We then move to the Fraser Valley Championships through which we qualify for the B.C. Championships. The Gators try to qualify both Junior and Senior boys and girls teams to compete at the B.C. Championships. With a large team of 50 or more runners we bring along our own cheering section and you compete against runners of a similar age and ability.
